This random event is available exclusively for returning players. That means that you need to play GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox One, or PC, and at least once run it on the PS3 or Xbox 360 with your Social Club account. If everything is ok with it, but the event still doesn’t spawn, read the section “If Some Event Doesn’t Spawn” in the article about random events.

Changes for Non-Returning Players

With the release of the Los Santos Tuners update, this random event appears to be available to all players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. There have been no official statements from the developers in this regard.

A Duke O’Death (a custom variant of a Duke’s) spawns near the gas station near Route 68, not far from the Los Santos Customs garage. To complete this event, you need to seize that car.

When you get into it and try to drive away, two trucks with armed drivers will block the road. If you try to escape, they will unlock the trailers and chase you. In a minute, another six rednecks on off-road vehicles will join them.

It’s impossible to break away from the pursuers, so you need to deal with them. You can shoot right from the car because its armor is effective against bullets. The main thing is don’t let the enemies come close and pull the protagonist out of the car.

Alternatively, you can drive away for a short distance from the pursuers, take cover behind the car and kill the enemies with any available weapons. This method is suitable if you use a gamepad and have difficulty with aiming while driving.

After the Event Completion

When you complete this event, two Duke O’Deaths will appear in San Andreas: one near the oil derrick in Grand Senora Desert, and another in the southwest of the car scrapyard in El Burro Heights. They spawn endlessly, and all three protagonists are able to use them. Also, it’s become available for purchase from Warstock Cache & Carry for $279,000.

Trivia

  • This random event is a reference to the 1971 movie named “Duel”.
